M107 Sniper Rifle and the M-2 Machine Gun
ACTION:
Read the TM for both weapons. Read the FM on how the M-2 weapon operates. View the two Video Handouts for the M-2 on the WEB Site. Be prepared to discuss how they operate using the correct weapon part name in their functioning and description. Be prepared to discuss the major parts of the TM's and where to find the PMCS Step #, I&R Steps, Troubleshooting Chapter, Maintenance Allocation Chart, and the Repair Parts Section in class. Complete the 1 page homework assignment. Complete additional Homework Pages for the M-2 MG located in student handout.
CONDITION::
In a well lighted class room and given a written instruction examination sheet a M-2 Machine gun, barrel and head space and timing gage without a computer and without access to the internet, and without the required publications, complete the examination within thirty minutes.
STANDARD:
A performance Examination will be administered that consists of; Disassembly of the M-2 which counts 25 points. Proper nomenclature for part names will count 25 points. Proper assembly will count 25 points. Proper head space and timing will count 25 points. A 15 Question Quiz will be administered on both weapons. All quiz questions are weighted equally for 5 points each for 100 total points. Passing is 70% and Certifying is 80%. Passing for the Machine gun will be an average of the Hands on Written test and Homework providing each action is 70% or above. Certifying will be an 80% average of all tasks. Students that obtain an average score of less than 70% must retake the entire course.
